HAMAM Turkish Boutique Spa – (Puerto Vallarta)

(2/5) I booked a spa day for my bachelorette trip with three other girls, and while everyone’s experience varied with most being positive, mine was overall disappointing.My therapist was Juan Carlos.-1 star: We arrived at 10:10 AM for a 2-hour treatment, but I was completely done by 12:05 PM. This included 5 minutes for introductions and forms, plus 10 minutes changing, meaning my actual treatment was noticeably shorter than expected.-1 star: Despite starting last, my massage ended 10 minutes before everyone else’s. I then had to wait alone in the locker room for another 10 minutes with no one checking in on me.-1 star: After my massage, my swimsuit wasn’t given back to me, and my masseuse was nowhere to be found. I had to wait outside in a robe until another therapist finished and could help retrieve it.While my friends had mixed experiences, mine was disappointing enough that I wouldn’t book again.— Reservé un día de spa para mi despedida de soltera con tres amigas y, aunque cada una tuvo una experiencia diferente, la mía fue bastante decepcionante.Mi terapeuta fue Juan Carlos.-1 estrella: Llegamos a las 10:10 AM para un tratamiento de dos horas, pero terminé completamente a las 12:05 PM. Tuve que esperar afuera en bata hasta que otro terapeuta terminó su sesión y pudo ayudarme a recuperarlo.Aunque mis amigas tuvieron experiencias variadas, la mía fue lo suficientemente decepcionante como para no volver a reservar.

(5/5) A friend and I came in for the Hamam experience while on vacation, and it was absolutely lovely. Neither of us had been to a Turkish spa before and weren’t exactly sure what to expect but our therapists were fantastic and talked us through what to expect for each step. It was hard to believe the entire experience was only 2 hours, it felt like an entire spa day. Each different room was a new and different experience, with beautiful Turkish decor and so much warmth (aside from the ice massage part of the treatment). The tea and cookies with champagne felt like a grand touch between the foam bath and oil massage.Highly recommend bringing a two piece bathing suit for women - it felt much more comfortable than changing into the disposable underwear, and they provided a plastic bag to take the wet suit back with us at the end.

I did the two hour session with the water bath and exfoliation, then the facial and the massage.It was definitely different with the laying on the giant stone table for the scrub and wash, but also very nice. The ice treatment is tough, so get ready, it’s very cold. Then finishing with an amazing massage is the perfect way to end.Absolutely worth the price. The place is much bigger on the inside. And absolutely gorgeous.

(2/5) I feel the need to comment now that the experience has taken a downward turn over the years. I have been here several times but more recently the therapists seem to be rushing through the treatment.The worst part is the massage at the end is done with NO privacy, with the curtains wide open. Considering clients both male and female walking down the hall, it is not a comfortable experience.
